The programme aims to deliver all the skills and knowledge you need to become a manual therapist using osteopathic techniques. You will explore the anatomy of each species (equine and small carnivores). Using this newly acquired knowledge, you will be able to demonstrate and apply your understanding through the practical skills classes which are organised throughout the year. Another important component of the course is to link your understanding as well as develop your future employability through several work placements (with animal or human registered practitioners). Those represent an integral part of the clinically relevant hours you have to demonstrate to validate
your year.
During your final year, you will also have to produce a research thesis. It will be based on a piece of research that you are interested in and will be formally assessed through an end of year viva. The research thesis will have to be innovative and built on scientific evidence as well as practical cases that will help you answering your hypotheses and further the osteopathic science.
